oneplus 15 delay

The OnePlus 15 is Coming to the US, But You’ll Have to Wait a Little Longer

| |

The long-awaited OnePlus 15 is ready to make its debut in the United States, but there’s one big problem — no one knows exactly when it will go on sale. The delay isn’t due to production or pricing issues but rather a technicality caused by the recent government shutdown, which has temporarily put the device’s FCC certification on hold.

OnePlus 15: Ready for the US, Waiting for Approval

The OnePlus 15 officially launched earlier this year in China, where it received positive reviews for its sleek design, top-tier performance, and incredible battery life. The company has even revealed its US pricing: $899 for the model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage — the same starting price as the OnePlus 13.

However, due to the federal government shutdown, OnePlus wasn’t able to secure the final FCC (Federal Communications Commission) approval required before it can legally sell the phone in the US. Even though the shutdown has ended, the backlog of certification requests has delayed the process further.

Spenser Blank, OnePlus’ Head of Marketing, explained the situation in a statement:

“As is the case with every smartphone manufacturer, the United States’ Federal Communications Commission certifies OnePlus devices before they are sold in the U.S. As a result of the government shutdown, device certifications have been delayed. Subsequently, U.S. sales for the OnePlus 15 will be postponed until they have been secured.”

According to Blank, the OnePlus 15 has already passed all the required lab tests and its certification application is officially submitted. Now, it’s just a waiting game.

OnePlus 15 Battery: The Real Game-Changer

While the delay is disappointing, the OnePlus 15 promises one major reason to stay excited — its incredible battery life. Thanks to advanced silicon-carbon battery technology, this phone packs a 7,300mAh battery, a big jump from the 6,000mAh capacity found in the OnePlus 13.

This new technology allows for thinner, higher-capacity batteries that charge faster and last longer than traditional lithium-ion cells. If you’ve been hoping for a flagship smartphone that can easily last two full days on a single charge, the OnePlus 15 might just be it.
